The Easy Crochet Scarf looks more fabulous with variegated yarns. This lacy scarf is something that will go with many dresses and styles. Colours can be changed according to your choice.

For this pattern, you need 100% acrylic yarn (weight: chunky ) and a crochet Hook Size C (3.0 mm)

  • Gauge: 16 st x 7 rows in 4” or 10 cm of double crochet Stitch.
  • Pattern written in US terms

Abbreviations:

  • Ch: chain
  • St: stitch
  • Dc: double crochet
  • Dtr: double treble crochet
  • Sk: skip
  • Ch sp: chain space

Special stitch:

  • Shell: 3dc, ch3, 3dc . Also called open shell since there are 3 chains between dc sts
  • All shells are made in ch3 sp

Scarf crochet Pattern

  • Foundation row: Ch30. Dc in 4th ch from hook. Ch2, sk 2 ch, dc in next 3ch, ch3, dc in next 3ch, ch4, sk 4ch, dc, ch3, dc in same st, ch4, sk 4ch, dc in next 3st, ch3, dc in next 3st, ch2, sk 2ch, dc in last ch.
  • Row 1: Ch3, turn your work. Dc in same st as ch3, ch2, shell, ch3, 7dc in ch3 sp, ch3, shell, ch2, dc in last st.
  • Row2: Ch3, turn your work. Dc in same st as ch3, ch2, shell, dtr in next st, *[ch2, dtr in next st] repeat * 5 times, shell, ch2, dc in last st
  • Row3: Ch3, turn your work. Dc in same st, ch2, shell, *[sl st in ch, ch2, sl st in next ch] repeat * 5 times, shell, ch2, dc in last st.
  • Row4: Ch3, turn your work. Dc in same st, ch2, shell, ch4, sk 4ch, dc in next ch, ch3, dc in same ch sp, ch4, shell, ch2, dc in last st.
  • Row 5: Ch3, turn your work. Dc in same st, ch2, shell, ch3, 7dc in ch3 sp, ch3, shell, ch2, dc in last st.

Repeat rows 2-5 until desired length. Add fringes to both ends of the scarf.
